All Saints Orchard and Churchyard

A group from Banstead Village in Bloom have been meeting weekly since the start of autumn to work on this well loved and frequented area in the heart of the village. With the cooperation of the vicar and church wardens we have repainted the benches, organised leaf sweeps and begun to look after and enhance some particular areas that have begun to look sad and neglected. It has been particularly encouraging for us to have so many people stop and thank us as they traverse the footpaths through the churchyard – reinforcing the raison d’etre of the RHS ‘Villages in Bloom’ initiative which is to work alongside existing communities to improve and enhance our environment for the enjoyment of all.
