WARM & WACKY!

Local comedian Tim Vine thrilled youngsters from 5 Banstead & Nork Beaver colonies when he attended the judging on the warmest Saturday in June, of the ‘Alien from Outer Space’ recycling competition, organised by the team from Banstead Village in Bloom. Using materials such as are collected on their litter picks these creative children constructed wonderfully imaginative creatures, the winning 3 of which are now parked in the front window of Sevenoaks Hearing Banstead, who kindly sponsored the event. A total of 96 6-8 year old children were involved in the making of these models and each child was presented with a goody bag containing a wriggly snake and a model aeroplane kit by Mrs Pam Griffin of Sevenoaks Hearing. First Prize was awarded to 7th Banstead for ‘Bobtrude’, 2nd Prize to 3rd Banstead for ‘Middle Child’ and the 3rd to Woodmansterne for ‘Killer Baby.’
