Spring Yarn Bomb

The residents of Banstead have surpassed themselves and together have created 971 crocheted and knitted flowers that will be displayed along the High Street. Luisa Puig asked her mum Ann; to start crocheting flowers back in December and together they made hundreds. Luisa has been in isolation for the past 14 days and has made garlands to decorate the lampposts and trees along the High Street. 87 eggs will adorn the trees at Waitrose along with 47 pom poms, all made by local residents.

As part of their daily exercise allowance and adhering to the social distancing rules, Luisa and her husband will decorate the High Street next week with a little help from another volunteer. We hope that you will all enjoy looking at the beautiful creations when you visit the High Street for shopping or taking your daily exercise.
